i love you so deeply that wherever i tread, you are under my feet

across five countries and as many languages

many people have asked me for directions

or which train they should catch

or how to find their platform

after i apologise for not speaking their language

and explain i am from Australia

mostly, humbly, they have asked again in English

i think it is because my sense of home is so deep

that it has becomes universally applicable
